PPSR registration, done for you
Still yours, even if they go under.
If a customer collapses, the goods you supplied on credit and the equipment you hired out get sold to pay the bank first. Unless you registered on the PPSR. We register for you, correctly, for $49, and keep it that way.
Checking a car before you buy it? That's a $2 PPSR search by VIN at ppsr.gov.au. OnTerms is for businesses that supply goods on credit or hire out equipment.

Built for the businesses that get burned
Equipment hire and rental
Coffee machines, fridges, POS, copiers, forklifts, site sheds. Open-ended hires are PPS leases; unregistered, the liquidator keeps your gear.
PPSR for equipment hire →Food and beverage wholesalers
Cafés and restaurants fail at twice the rate of the economy. One registration per customer protects every delivery on 30-day terms.
PPSR for wholesalers →Anyone who sells on terms
Building supplies, packaging, parts, consignment stock. If your invoice says "title remains with the supplier", that clause does nothing until it's registered.

Common questions
What is the PPSR and why would I register on it?
The Personal Property Securities Register is the national register of security interests in goods and other property. If you supply goods on credit, hire out equipment or leave stock on consignment, registering your interest is what puts you ahead of unsecured creditors, and in many cases ahead of the bank, if the customer goes into administration or liquidation.
I have a retention-of-title clause. Isn't that enough?
Not since 2012. The clause creates a security interest, but only a registration on the PPSR makes it effective against the customer's liquidator and bank. Unregistered, the goods vest in the customer the day an administrator is appointed.
What does it cost?
A registration costs $49 on Protect, with the $6 government fee included, or from $39 a month on a plan that covers renewals, expiry alerts and customer watching. Searches cost $2 and the free check is free.
Do you give legal advice?
No. OnTerms is a registration agent. We lodge and look after registrations from the documents and instructions you give us, and we report what the register and your documents say. If you need advice about your legal position, we'll point you to a lawyer.
How fast is it?
Same day for a registration once you've confirmed the details. The free check comes back within one business day.
